Graduate Assistant/Career Coach
Arlette Murillo is a Graduate Assistant/Career Coach and Recruiting Assistant in the Career Development Center. She moved from Honduras to New Orleans in 2015 and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of New Orleans. She is now pursuing a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Loyola.
As a Graduate Assistant in the Career Development Center, Arlette works in several different capacities. As a Recruiting Assistant, she serves as a point of contact for our employer partners. She assists employers in getting their job and internship opportunities posted in Handshake and coordinates on-campus recruiting opportunities such as Employer of the Day Information Tables or Sessions. She also assists the career development team with the planning and implementation of career fairs. As a Career Coach, Arlette helps students build and edit their resumes and cover letters, aids with building job and internship search strategies, and helps students with their introductory career exploration questions.
Previously, Arlette worked in the Career Services Center as a work-study student at the University of New Orleans. She assisted in the planning, coordination, and set-up of career fairs, recruiting events and career workshops. Other experience includes leadership involvement, customer service, inventory management, ABA therapy, and crisis intervention.
During her free time, Arlette enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, or taking walks through the park.
