Brent McLemore serves as the Assistant Director for Experiential Learning and career coach for STEM majors and undecided students. He also oversees the Sophomore Year Internship Program which is designed to support meaningful internship experiences for participating students while promoting their career readiness and exploration. He has been a member of Loyola University New Orleans’ Career Development Center staff since January of 2018. Before arriving at Loyola New Orleans, Brent oversaw career services at Carson-Newman University where he advised and coached students from all disciplines, coordinated comprehensive programs and career events, and taught courses regarding major and career exploration and career and personal development. A certified practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory, Brent incorporates these assessments, among others, into his coaching and guidance of students.

Brent received both his B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in History, Social Work, and Counselor Education and his M.S. in Counseling with an emphasis in Student Affairs Administration from Mississippi State University. Prior to his work in career services, Brent served in various roles of oversight and leadership in student activities and residence life. He enjoys employing this decade of professional experience in student development and higher education in service to his students and Loyola New Orleans.
