Jill Boatright

Jill Boatright arrived at the Loyola University New Orleans Career Development Center in 2012 and currently serves as the Director for Career Development. She received both her B.A. in Sociology and Foreign Affairs and her M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Virginia.

Prior to Loyola, Jill worked in various capacities in the career centers at the University of Virginia and Mercer University. During her tenure in career services, she has worked with students across all disciplines providing comprehensive guidance on all aspects of career development including career exploration and assessment, job and internship search, resume and cover letter development, interviewing strategies and techniques, networking for employment, and graduate and professional school application. Additionally, Jill has served as an adjunct instructor for senior level courses focused on preparing students to successfully navigate the transition from college to the world of work. She is certified in various career assessments including the Strong Interest Inventory and Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

As Director, she currently serves as the primary career coach and internship program coordinator for Mass Communication majors as well as all graduate students. Jill also develops strategic relationships and partnerships with employers to increase internship and employment opportunities for Loyola students and alumni. She assists employers identify the best ways to connect with and recruit students depending on their specific needs, and she plans and implements both small and large scale recruiting events on-campus.
