Bio
Elizabeth (Liz) Rainey oversees the Pan-American Life Student Success Center at Loyola University New Orleans. She leads university-wide programs designed to successfully guide students through their time in college, from commencement to graduation. Her research focuses on students' experiences, retention, graduation, and federal financial aid policy.
As Executive Director of the Student Success Center, Liz leads a collaborative team who provide a range of services for Loyola students, including academic advising, accessible education, career development, online success, success coaching and writing and learning resources. Since joining Loyola in 2010, Liz has developed innovative ways to enhance students’ college experiences. She created First in the PACK, a mentoring program for first-year, first-generation students. Liz is an Inside Track advanced certified student success coach and success coach trainer. She launched a coaching program in 2017 to encourage goal setting and reflection with every first-year student and co-wrote the university’s first successful federal TRIO grant, valued at more than 1 million dollars.
