Bio
Dr. Julia Miller began teaching in the New Orleans public charter schools in 2007. She has taught English language arts, social studies, and gifted education in the middle grades. She has also developed gifted education programming and differentiated instruction models. While teaching, she served as a mentor teacher to several graduate and undergraduate teaching residents. Her areas of special interest include equity in gifted education, curriculum design, and project based learning.
Here at Loyola University New Orleans, Dr. Miller teaches several of the required undergraduate and graduate level courses for Teacher Education students. She also developed a First Year Seminar course to spark interest in issues in education in incoming first year students. In addition, Dr. Miller serves as the faculty liaison to the Office of Accessible Education.
