Bio
Katie McBride provides strategic leadership and vision to the advising and coaching team within the Student Success Center. She also works directly with the leaders in the Office of Writing and Learning Services and TRIO Student Support Services to ensure holistic and collaborative student success programming at Loyola New Orleans. Her goal is to ensure every student has access to one on one guidance and academic support to increase their likelihood of retention and success within the university, and the higher education system. These interventions take various forms and address the needs of a diverse and unique student body, from course selection to understanding how to effectively plan a schedule as a young adult, the entire Student Success team is here to support students and their pursuit of their academic goals. Katie is passionate about this work because of the impact a college degree can have on an individual and generations of their family to come.
Prior to joining the staff at Loyola University, Katie served in a variety of roles at The University of Southern Mississippi and Tulane University, including work in admissions, campus visits, student outreach and support, success coaching, and academic advising. She received a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota where she focused on civil rights and health law and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The University of Southern Mississippi.
