Bio

Monica Curtis serves as Project Director for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). Monica provides leadership to the TRIO team with the goal of meeting program objectives of retention, good academic standing, and graduation. She is an Inside Track certified success coach committed to supporting underrepresented students in achieving their academic, career, and personal goals. 

Prior to joining Loyola, Monica served in a variety of roles in higher education across both academic and student affairs. She provided academic advising and support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the areas of enrollment, financial aid, and TRIO. Monica also has experience in education administration, case management, and program development.  

Monica is a New Orleans native and attended Eleanor McMain Secondary School. She graduated from Howard University with a bachelor's in Psychology and received her master's in Counselor Education from The University of New Orleans. Monica's personal experiences as a first-generation college student with limited resources drives her work with students who share similar backgrounds. She strongly believes in incorporating Jesuit ideals and values in the realm of higher education support services. Monica loves New Orleans culture, being in nature, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
